Position Description
The Segment Vice President, Human Resources is a senior executive on the Segment leadership team serving as a key advisor to the Segment President and Segment Staff. This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing the global human resource strategy in support of the overall Segment business plan and long-term strategy. The Segment Vice President, Human Resources is a key member of the global Human Resources function, supporting the development and execution of company-wide Human Resources processes and initiatives including succession planning, leadership development, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Following our 80/20 principals, develop and implement Segment HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Serve as strategic advisor to the Climate Solutions management team on all HR matters.
- Champion the Modine Values model and ensure the same of Segment Leadership team.
Talent Management:
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of talent required to support the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention at all levels in the organization, including plant production staff.
- Support Company-wide Succession Planning and Talent Development initiatives.
- Oversee the development and implementation of segment-specific training and development programs and support company-wide/corporate training and development initiatives.
Performance Management:
- Manage the Modine Performance & Development Process throughout the Segment.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities for managers to enhance their leadership capabilities.
Employee/Labor Relations:
- Develop and maintain employee relations strategies to maintain/improve employee engagement and retention across all Segment locations.
- Develop and execute labor relations strategies at locations where third-party representation is present.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Partnering with the Corporate Total Rewards function, develop and implement competitive/cost-effective compensation and benefit strategies throughout the Segment applying any company-wide compensation structures/systems as applicable.
- Maintain appropriate controls over variable compensation programs throughout the Segment (any sales incentive plans, plant-based performance plans) ensuring plans are competitive, appropriately constructed and accounted for properly.
- Ensure compliance with any local statutory/social compensation and benefits requirements at each global location.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all employment-related statutory regulations/laws in the jurisdictions in which the business operates.
- Implement HR policies and procedures ensuring a safe and compliant workplace.
- Manage employee relations issues and provide guidance on conflict resolution.
- Support deployment of company-wide compliance and business ethics training initiatives/programs.
- Champion compliance with all Modine Environmental, Health and Safety standards.
Organizational Development:
- Utilizing 80/20 principles, lead cross-functional organizational design initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
- Drive change management initiatives to support the organization's growth and transformation.
- Oversee M&A HR Due Diligence and Integration activity in support of Segment inorganic growth initiatives.
Required Education & Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive global HR experience, including 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in strategic HR planning and execution.
- Background in leading HR-related M&A workstreams
- Strong knowledge of global employment laws, regulations and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR staff members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience in a diversified industrial/growth sector.
- Experience with HRIS (SAP SuccessFactors) and other HR technology solutions.
Working Conditions:
- 20% travel required.
- Dependent upon candidate location – this role will be hybrid/remote.

The salary range for this position is estimated in good faith to be $240,000-$325,000. The specific offer will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other job-related considerations but will be within the stated range.
