Position Description

The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will manage Shipping and Receiving operations to ensure effective utilization of resources to meet customer delivery requirements and incoming material receipts.

Key Responsibilities

Manage assigned set of suppliers to allow for adequate levels of inventory to meet Production and Customer requirements.
Work directly with suppliers on SAP generated delivery schedules
Review and communicate part shortages as necessary
When needed, setup expedited shipments and follow through to ensure pick-up and delivery (including out of office hours)
Issue 8D’s against supplier non-conformances as necessary
Assist in administration of Plant Cycle Count Program to maintain accurate inventory
Work with plant and warehouse personnel to facilitate effective and safe material flow from warehouse to point of use as well as returning excess material for warehouse restocking
Supervise Shipping & Receiving Personnel
Maintain Kronos timekeeping, scheduling and attendance for all direct reports
Establish and review regularly a standard work for all direct reports
Work closely with Materials & Production Managers to understand monthly sales requirements and ensure proper trucking coverage is scheduled to meet sales forecast.
Ensure on-time delivery of all customer shipments
Attend production meetings and convey production timing of outgoing product availability to Shipping team.
When necessary, setup expedited shipments to customers and follow through to ensure pick-up and delivery (including out of office hours)
Comply with customer specific shipment transaction requirements
Assist in timely reconciliation of shipment related issues with customer or other supporting functions (Customer Service, Racine SAP Sales & Distribution Team, Carriers, etc.)
Ensure on-time receipt into ERP system of incoming material
Oversee maintaining of receiving error log and aid in resolution when necessary Monitor shipping transactions (VL06O, VT11, ZVL06O) at a frequency of at least once per month to ensure all transactions are completed in the appropriate time frame. Maintain 5S of the shipping docks and other finished goods storage areas to ensure all parts are stored safely and orderly.

Required Education & Qualifications

3 – 5 years of supervisory experience
Knowledge of ERP Systems (SAP Preferred)
Excellent communication skills
Thorough understanding of logistics and transportation industry
High School Diploma
2 – 3 Years College Level Courses
