Position Description
Modine Manufacturing Company in Racine, Wisconsin is hiring for a Senior Test Technician to support the testing of thermal components, such as heat exchangers, for automotive, heavy duty, and off-highway vehicle applications in our thermal performance laboratory.
This position will be responsible for organization and prioritization of test queues as well as the set-up, testing, and report generation of heat exchanger product testing in our Thermal Test Laboratory. The Senior Technician is responsible for the oversight and mentorship of all laboratory technicians to provide reliable and timely testing in accordance with written Laboratory Work Orders and validated test methods as prescribed in the Racine Tech Center Quality Management System.
About the Thermal Test Laboratory: The primary activity of this laboratory is heat exchanger performance. The laboratory provides a wide variety of stable fluid inputs with flow rate, temperature, and pressure control to establish the fundamental thermodynamic characteristics of heat exchangers and systems (e.g., engine cooling radiators, battery coolers, air and liquid cooled oil coolers and charge air coolers.)

Key Responsibilities
- Test execution and reporting per Laboratory Work Order (LWO) Specifications.
- General troubleshooting and maintenance of test equipment, instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Assist in required annual calibration activities for test equipment.
- Identify and assist in test fixture design and/or fabrication
- Train and mentor lab technicians in the operation and best practice of test equipment, test methods, and general lab operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in and around lab area.
- Establish and/or maintain work area standards for cleanliness and workplace accountability.
Required Education & Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
Required: 8+ years of equivalent hands-on technical experience in a lab or testing environment or 10+ years similar experience in a technical discipline
Desired: Associate degree (or higher) in an Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Automotive or a related technical discipline
