Position Description

 

The Senior Manager, Network Architecture & Engineering provides leadership for the strategy, design, delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of the enterprise network environment. This role is accountable for secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-effective network capabilities across campus, manufacturing, data center, cloud, wireless, and WAN environments. The position combines technical architecture ownership, operational accountability, vendor management, and direct leadership of network engineering resources to ensure network services align with business priorities and enterprise technology standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the strategy, architecture, and roadmap for enterprise networking technologies, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, and network security.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient network solutions that support business operations, manufacturing environments, and future growth.
  • Drive network modernization initiatives, including wireless transformation, segmentation, automation, cloud networking, monitoring, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Oversee the planning, deployment, migration, and optimization of network infrastructure across global corporate and plant locations.
  • Establish and maintain network engineering standards, documentation, change management processes, and operational best practices.
  • Partner with infrastructure, cybersecurity, application, and business teams to ensure network performance, availability, security, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Provide technical leadership and serve as the escalation point for complex network incidents, root cause analysis, and long-term remediation efforts.
  • Manage and optimize enterprise routing, switching, wireless, SD-WAN, VPN, internet edge, and cloud connectivity platforms.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global network engineering team, including workforce planning, performance management, skills development, and resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with business stakeholders, vendors, and technology partners while communicating technical recommendations, risks, and strategic priorities to both technical and non-technical audiences.

 

Required Education & Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network architecture, engineering, implementation, and operations in complex, multi-site environments.
  • 3+ years of direct people leadership experience managing network engineering, infrastructure, or related technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and operating Cisco and Aruba network solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, subnetting, VLANs, QoS, OSPF, BGP, wireless networking, network security principles, and high-availability design.
  • Proven ability to lead complex infrastructure initiatives from architecture through implementation and operational stabilization.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and vendor management skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent practical expertise.
  • Aruba certifications such as ACA, ACP, ACE, or equivalent practical expertise.
  • Experience with SD-WAN, cloud networking, manufacturing or plant network environments, network automation, zero-trust segmentation, and ITIL-aligned operations.
  • Experience managing budgets, technology roadmaps, lifecycle planning, contracts, and service-provider performance.

The salary range for this position is estimated in good faith to be $129,600 - $181,800. The specific offer will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other job-related considerations but will be within the stated range.
