Position Description
This position will provide advanced accounting support for the Grenada, MS and the U.S. Coatings facilities. The ideal candidate comes with extensive experience in accounting and will ensure timely completion of the month-end close processes. The position will also provide critical plant accounting support and will be tasked with streamlining key activities and driving efficiencies across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, prepare, and record monthly journal entries to ensure they are accurately reflected in the income statement and balance sheet in a timely manner.
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities and processes.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Financial Standard Practices (FSPs), policies and procedures.
- Facilitate plant accounting activities as needed.
- Prepare balance sheet analyses and account reconciliations.
- Support plant physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
- Drive process and system improvements by establishing best practices as it relates to accounting processes and controls.
- Focus on improving the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of information and services provided.
- Exhibit strong leadership behaviors in conjunction with the 80/20 operating model.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP is a must.
- Previous use and knowledge of SAP, BlackLine, and/or Hyperion is a plus.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Strong communication and business partnering skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Disciplined self-starter with excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrate problem-solving mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
