Position Description
We are looking for a motivated and competent Sales Engineering Support professional to join our Modine Heatcraft Coils division. In this role, you will act as the crucial technical and commercial link between Sales Managers, R&D, Operations, Product Engineering, and our industrial customers (OEMs and Key Accounts). You will take the lead on engineering customer requests, providing fundamental support throughout the entire sales cycle—from thermal simulation and product selection to feasibility analysis and cost calculation. Additionally, you will support the drafting team in developing drawings and BOMs, ensuring perfect alignment between customer requirements and our manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Selection & Cost Estimation: Utilize Modine’s proprietary thermal/product selection tools and internal configurators to size and configure heat exchangers based on customer operating parameters and requirements.
- Quotation & Project Management: Review assigned RFQs, elaborate cost analyses, and prepare detailed, competitive technical-commercial proposals. Submit output analysis to the Sales Manager and ensure accurate project management of won deals and purchase orders.
- Engineering & Manufacturing Feasibility: Examine technical drawings, layouts, and specifications. Evaluate the manufacturing feasibility of new designs (materials, anti-corrosion treatments, safety standards) and liaise directly with manufacturing to resolve design problems or inaccuracies.
- Drafting & Product Development Support: Assist the drafting team in modifying or developing new products (drawings, BOMs) and lead efforts in fulfilling unique, customized requirements.
- Customer & Cross-Functional Support: Manage daily communications with international customers regarding technical clarifications, product changes, and pricing. Collaborate seamlessly with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and After-Sales Service to ensure delivery timelines are met and to troubleshoot field issues.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Energy, Management, Chemical, or similar) or an Industrial Technical Diploma with equivalent consolidated work experience.
- Experience: 5 years of experience in Inside Sales, Sales Application Engineering, or technical support, specifically within the heat exchanger, HVAC/R, or advanced manufacturing industries.
- Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer principles.
- Ability to read and interpret industrial technical drawings.
- Knowledge of CAD drafting tools (2D/3D) for customer layout analysis is a strong advantage.
- Soft Skills: Highly result-oriented, energetic, and dynamic. Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a strong aptitude for cross-functional collaboration. Precise, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
- Languages: Fluency in English (written and verbal) is essential for daily interactions with international accounts and Modine’s global offices. Knowledge of a second foreign language is highly appreciated.
- Travel: Willingness and availability to travel within Italy and abroad (EMEA region) to meet with customers.
What we offer
- Structured onboarding within a leading multinational group in the global thermal management sector.
- High-level continuous training on the Coils product range (manufacturing technologies, materials, protective treatments, and software).
- A stimulating work environment oriented towards innovation and sustainability.
- The contract will be at C3 level according to the Italian National Contract for Industry Metalworkers and the total compensation package will be 33.000€ gross yearly (or higher based on experience).
