SNB Leadhand - Afternoon

  • Oversee and support sheet metal measurement and layout activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Lead and perform advanced metal fabrication tasks, including shearing, notching, cutting, bending, and punching various types of metal, while ensuring team members follow best practices and safety standards
  • Operate and provide direction on the use of metalworking equipment, such as the Accushear, Variable Angle Notching Machine, Schroder Panel Bender, and Power Bending systems, assisting team members with troubleshooting or complex setups as needed
  • Coordinate daily workflow within the SNB Prima area, ensuring proper prioritization of tasks, efficient use of resources, and timely completion of production requirements
  • Train, mentor, and support operators, promoting skill development, consistency of work, and adherence to quality and safety procedures
  • Monitor and maintain accurate documentation, including consumption records, production reports, and equipment logs, ensuring data integrity and readiness for audits
  • Assist with equipment checks and basic maintenance, reporting issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain operational readiness

Key Responsibilities

Technical Qualifications 

  • Strong knowledge of material gauges and their application, with the ability to guide team members in selecting correct materials for production requirements.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret tape measurements, diagrams, and blueprints, ensuring accuracy and supporting others in understanding complex instructions.
  • Solid understanding of engineering drawings, schematics, cut lists, and sheet metal principles, with the capacity to troubleshoot discrepancies and provide direction to operators.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, with the capability to mentor less experienced staff on best practices and safe, efficient operation.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude, with the ability to learn, operate, and provide guidance on all aspects of machinery within the SNB Prima area.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems and math skills, including accurate ruler and measurement interpretation, and the ability to support accurate documentation and reporting.

  • High level of reliability, dependability, and accountability, serving as a consistent role model and point of support for team members and supervisors.

Physical:
•    Lifting of materials or components periodically up to 50 lbs unassisted
•    May be exposed to noisy environment (ear protection may be required). 
•    May have to lift, bend, and be exposed to continuous periods of standing.
