Position Description
The Senior Systems/Desktop Engineer is a technical leader responsible for the design, implementation, and management of Modine’s global End User Compute (EUC) environment. This role specializes in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Intune, ensuring the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of thousands of endpoint devices. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in endpoint management platforms and a proven track record of supporting large-scale, enterprise environments. This position requires close collaboration with Helpdesk, Local Tech Support, infrastructure teams, and end-users to provide escalation support and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, administration, and maintenance of the enterprise SCCM and Intune platforms, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Manage and maintain all aspects of SCCM, including application packaging/deployment, software updates, operating system deployment (OSD), and endpoint configuration management.
- Design and implement Intune policies for mobile device management (MDM), mobile application management (MAM), and endpoint security.
- Develop and manage the transition to modern endpoint management using Intune, including co-management and Autopilot strategies.
- Serve as the highest-level escalation point for complex endpoint issues, providing expert-level support to IT support teams and end-users.
- Create and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell) to streamline operational tasks, software deployments, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain standards for endpoint builds, configuration, and software distribution.
- Collaborate with the security team to implement and enforce endpoint security policies, compliance baselines, and vulnerability remediation.
- Monitor endpoint health, performance, and compliance, and proactively address systemic issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and helpdesk staff, providing technical guidance and creating comprehensive documentation and operational runbooks.
- Interface with business stakeholders and IT leaders to gather requirements and communicate project status, risks, and recommendations.
Required Education & Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in an IT Systems or Desktop Engineering role with a focus on endpoint management.
- Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience managing a large-scale SCCM environment (Current Branch).
- Significant experience with Microsoft Intune, including device enrollment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, and application deployment.
- Proven experience with Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
- Advanced proficiency in scripting with PowerShell for automation and administration.
- Strong understanding of endpoint security principles, including patching, encryption, and threat protection.
- Experience with operating system deployment (OSD), imaging, and migration, preferably using SCCM and/or Intune Autopilot.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interface effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end-users.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor team members.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate) are a plus.

The salary range for this position is estimated in good faith to be $85,000-$142,000. The specific offer will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other job-related considerations but will be within the stated range.
