Position Description
The Product Engineer will support new product development and sustaining engineering activities for HVAC products. This role focuses on executing engineering tasks, supporting cross-functional teams, and contributing to product performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support engineering projects related to new product development and sustaining activities.
- Assist in developing HVAC products based on defined scope, compliance requirements, and market needs.
- Apply knowledge of refrigeration systems, thermodynamics, and heat transfer to support product design and testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Procurement, and Services.
- Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for existing products.
- Contribute to cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
- Assist in identifying customer problems and developing prototype solutions.
- Work with suppliers to evaluate alternate component solutions.
- Support analysis of market and industry trends to inform engineering decisions.
- Participate in feasibility and ROI assessments for engineering projects.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- 3+ years of experience in product development or product engineering.
- Familiarity with refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Understanding of compliance requirements for HVAC systems is a plus.
- Experience with FEA/CFD software preferred.
- Working knowledge of CAD tools, preferably Solid Edge.
- Travel required: Up to 15% travel, primarily to Modine plants, suppliers, and customer locations.
