Position Description

The Product Engineer will support new product development and sustaining engineering activities for HVAC products. This role focuses on executing engineering tasks, supporting cross-functional teams, and contributing to product performance and reliability. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support engineering projects related to new product development and sustaining activities.
  • Assist in developing HVAC products based on defined scope, compliance requirements, and market needs.
  • Apply knowledge of refrigeration systems, thermodynamics, and heat transfer to support product design and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Procurement, and Services.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for existing products.
  • Contribute to cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
  • Assist in identifying customer problems and developing prototype solutions.
  • Work with suppliers to evaluate alternate component solutions.
  • Support analysis of market and industry trends to inform engineering decisions.
  • Participate in feasibility and ROI assessments for engineering projects.

 

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • 3+ years of experience in product development or product engineering.
  • Familiarity with refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements for HVAC systems is a plus.
  • Experience with FEA/CFD software preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CAD tools, preferably Solid Edge.
  • Travel required: Up to 15% travel, primarily to Modine plants, suppliers, and customer locations.
