Position Description
Responsible for cost analysis and optimization of ACM products for heavy-duty off-road equipment. This role ensures cost targets are achieved throughout the product lifecycle, supports global projects, and provides direct support to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico (NLM) operations with some travel required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed cost models for ACM products, including materials, labor, overhead, tooling, and logistics.
- Conduct should-cost analysis and supplier benchmarking to identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing to integrate cost targets into design and production decisions.
- Support NLM operations during plant start-ups, product transfers, and new launches by providing cost analysis and guidance.
- Monitor actual vs. estimated costs, perform variance analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in make-vs-buy evaluations and lifecycle cost assessments for ACM components.
- Prepare and present cost reports at key project milestones to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving programs across ACM operations globally.
- Provide on-site support at Nuevo Laredo and other manufacturing locations as needed (travel up to 15%).
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of Engineering experience. Experience in finance or product costing is a plus.
- Knowledge of Modine products and manufacturing processes (fabrication, machining, brazing) and cost drivers.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in costing tools and ERP systems.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Excel and willingness to leverage AI tools.
- Excellent communication and ability to work cross-functionally in a global environment.
