Position Description
This hybrid role combines strategic account management with inside sales support for the On-Highway Commercial Vehicle market. The ideal candidate will manage key OEM accounts, support internal sales operations, and ensure smooth execution of commercial processes. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional activities to meet customer expectations and program requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned OEM and Tier 1 accounts.
- Develop and maintain strategic Account Plans to support long-term customer relationships.
- Conduct Pre-Call Planning, present proposals, and negotiate commercial terms.
- Apply value-added selling and deliver a differentiated service model through responsive, personalized support.
- Coordinate customer visits and represent Modine at relevant industry events.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Engineering, Program Management, Operations) to ensure successful program execution and customer satisfaction.
Inside Sales & Commercial Support
- Support quoting activities, including RFQ responses and pricing updates.
- Review customer terms and conditions and assist in drafting responses.
- Set up new customer accounts, review purchase orders, and maintain organized documentation.
- Assist with forecasting, lifecycle tracking, and new product release (NPR) processes.
- Ensure tooling charges are invoiced and pricing systems are updated.
- Resolve pricing and commercial issues to support cash flow and customer satisfaction.
- Document and improve internal sales processes and support systems.
- Mediate commercial issues between customers and internal departments.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience accepted for candidates with strong industry background.
- 5–7+ years of experience in technical sales, account management, or inside sales within the On-Highway Commercial Vehicle or related OEM sectors.
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP.
- Experience with strategic planning tools (Account Plans, Opportunity Plans) and commercial documentation.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel: 20–35% across North America for customer meetings and industry events.
- Work Schedule: 40+ hours/week with flexibility for early or late hours due to global customer base.
- Team Participation: Active involvement in team and staff meetings required.
