Position Description

 

This position is responsible for the engineering, implementation, and validation of electric components and smart electronic products for electric vehicle thermal systems.

Key Responsibilities

 

 

  • Design and validate electrical components and systems for Modine Vehicular Thermal Solutions products.
  • Design printed circuit boards (PCB), including component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, and design for manufacturability and testability.
  • Develop embedded firmware for electrical control and communication while conforming to automotive standards for code quality, testing, and functional safety.
  • Develop and maintain internal design and engineering specifications for electromechanical components.
  • Participate in design meetings and communicate with supervisor, section manager, program manager, other product engineers, and manufacturing engineers regarding product design and other issues.
  • Participate in all phases of a project, from concept to production, following and utilizing the APQP process.
  • Complete projects within allocated budget to meet Modine’s high quality and performance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain tools used by Modine engineers and technicians. This includes field service and testing tools used by Application Engineering and Sales along with tools used by plant and Warranty technicians. 
  • Create test plans and perform verification and validation testing on components and systems to verify functionality, performance, reliability, and conformance to automotive industry standards. 

Required Education & Qualifications

 

Required Education

 

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.

 

Required Qualifications 

 

  • Must be results-oriented with excellent analytical, planning, organization, and execution skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate some level of proficiency in schematic design, circuit analysis, and design validation.
  • Must be able to demonstrate some level of proficiency using testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and DC power supplies.
  • Must be able to demonstrate some level of programming proficiency. Experience in C, C++, and Python languages is preferred.
  • Preferably has completed Sophomore year in college.
