Position Description
Reporting directly to the CIO, the leader of Data Analytics & AI is a crucial leadership role responsible for developing and executing the enterprise-wide data, analytics, and artificial intelligence strategy. This leader will be a key driver of our business transformation, shaping how Modine leverages data and AI to create business value, foster a data-driven culture, and empower citizen-led innovation.
The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing data teams, partnering with executive stakeholders to solve business problems, and delivering scalable, impactful data and AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Vision: Develop, articulate, and execute a comprehensive, forward-looking strategy for data analytics and AI that aligns with Modine's business objectives. Drive the vision for a future-state data architecture and technology stack.
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a global team of data professionals. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Business Partnership & Value Creation: Collaborate with senior leaders across the company to identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities for leveraging data and AI. Translate business needs into technical requirements and analytical solutions that drive measurable business value.
- Technology & Platform Management: Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of data and AI platforms and tools. Ensure the technology stack is modern, scalable, and secure, incorporating key systems like SAP, the Microsoft Suite (including Power BI), and Google.
- Governance & Execution: Establish and enforce robust data governance standards and processes. Own the product backlog and roadmaps for analytics and AI initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget.
- Innovation & Culture: Champion a data-driven culture throughout the organization. Drive the "Citizen-led Innovation" strategy, empowering employees with the tools and training to leverage data effectively. Stay current with emerging trends in AI, machine learning, and data analytics to keep Modine at the forefront of technology.
Required Education & Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in the data analytics and/or IT fields, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful data, analytics, and AI strategies that have delivered significant business impact.
- Extensive experience leading and mentoring high-performing, global data teams.
- Deep understanding of modern data architecture, including data warehousing, data lakes, and lakehouses.
- Hands-on experience with a variety of data and AI technologies, including:
- BI & Visualization: Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- AI/ML: Experience with AI and machine learning concepts and tools, including Azure OpenAI.
- ERP Systems: Broad understanding of enterprise systems, including SAP/SAP BW.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and gain buy-in from executives and the broader business community.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect data and analytics to real-world business challenges.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
