Position Description

Business Account Representatives are responsible for supporting the relationship with existing customers, monitoring the base book of business, and growing the business over time.  Servicing multiple accounts concurrently is an important aspect of the position, so the ability to multitask is essential.  The ideal candidate can deliver exceptional customer service on a day-to-day basis and manage priorities according to both Modine and customer needs.

To excel in this role, you should have exceptional communication, computer, and problem-solving skills.  You should be resourceful, analytical, adaptable, and organized with the ability to build rapport with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage business with existing customers
    • Support Business Account Manager(s)  to build long-term relationships with existing customers
    • Develop new business with existing customers and identify opportunities to increase share of wallet
    • Prepare, submit, and participate in quote negotiations for new programs, and for updates to existing business
    • Maintain entire book of business and ensure profitability levels meet or exceed company targets
    • Work with internal teams as the “Voice of Customer” to resolve all customer account management matters
    • Answer customers’ questions regarding products, prices, availability, and uses
    • Facilitate internal reviews of customer contracts to determine optimal position for Modine
    • Perform field support and training to educate customers on merits of product and basic operation
  • Stay on top of rapidly evolving industry trends
    • Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on competitors
    • Have a strong understanding of Modine products, competition in the market, and positioning
    • Understand customer’s product needs and give feedback to Modine design team for emerging technologies
    • Attend conferences and industry events

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Marketing, or related field; Engineering is preferred
  • Three years proven track record in business sales or related market
  • Excellent organizational skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
  • Flexibility to support evolving short-term customer needs based on fluctuations in customer activity 
  • Technical skills required to understand and propose products or solutions by focusing on client requirements
  • Ability to communicate information, whether technical or non-technical to staff members and customers, in a clear and concise manner
  • Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical analysis software
