Position Description
In this position you will be focused on both mechanical design and additive manufacturing. You will work with our Advanced Manufacturing team on a variety exciting projects. This paid position is located at our global headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin. This opportunity can be a part-time or full-time temporary position. The typical assignment lasts for one full semester and there are possibilities to extend for additional semesters.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Manufacturing team with concept designs and drawings for new process development work
- Modify existing models and drawings
- Support team with 3D printing process development and printing requests
- Perform hands-on tasks for helping produce equipment/tooling
- Conduct process and part experiments, trials, or testing
- May communicate directly with customer engineering or design teams, Modine suppliers, or Modine facilities
- Work in teams with personnel from multiple departments globally including manufacturing operations, product development and application engineering
Required Education & Qualifications
Education Requirements:
- Must be pursuing an Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design Technology, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, or another technical field equivalent
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in 3D solid modeling
- Experience reading and creating engineering drawings
- Hands-on experience and a working knowledge of FDM 3D printers
- Have the ability to consider manufacturability of components parts through design process
- Proven troubleshooting, mechanical, and analytical skills
- Customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work in a team environment while taking ownership of projects
