Position Description

The Accounts Payable Specialist supports the Accounts Payable Supervisor in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of all accounts payable activities. This role is responsible for invoice processing, vendor payments, account reconciliation, and maintaining strong internal controls while continuously improving efficiency within the AP function.

Key Responsibilities

Invoice Processing & Payments 
• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices 
• Perform 3-way matching (invoice, purchase order, receipt) 
• Ensure proper approvals, coding, and documentation 
• Enter invoices and manage timely vendor payments 
Vendor Management 
• Maintain accurate vendor records and master data 
• Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and issues 
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate outstanding balances 
Reconciliation & Financial Support 
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and general ledger accounts 
• Support month-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations 
• Maintain accurate financial records and audit-ready documentation 
Issue Resolution 
• Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues 
• Investigate variances and ensure timely resolution 
Process Improvement 
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and efficiency 
• Collaborate with finance teams to streamline workflows 
• Stay current on accounting practices, systems, and regulations 

Required Education & Qualifications

Required Qualifications 
• 3+ years of accounts payable experience 
• Experience in electronic AP processing environments 
• Knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation processes 
• Experience with month-end close 


Technical Skills 
• SAP proficiency 
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills

Education 
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (preferred) or equivalent 
experience
