Position Description
The Quality Director for the Americas Region is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the enterprise-wide quality strategy across multiple manufacturing sites and business units. This role drives quality governance, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure world-class standards in product reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. The Quality Director will collaborate with executive leadership, engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to align quality objectives with corporate goals, regulatory requirements, and sustainability initiatives. This position oversees a high-performing team of quality managers and engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and proactive risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a regional quality strategy aligned with global standards and corporate objectives.
- Own and optimize enterprise Quality Management Systems (QMS) ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ASHRAE, and other relevant standards.
- Lead quality governance and reporting to executive leadership, providing insights on trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead manufacturing quality teams in conjunction with plant managers.
- Drive supplier quality strategy, including audits, capability assessments, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure robust quality planning for new product introductions (NPI).
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma, Lean, and advanced quality methodologies.
- Oversee risk management processes including SPC, FMEA, and DOE to proactively mitigate quality risks.
- Represent quality in executive forums and customer escalations, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term improvement.
- Develop and mentor quality leadership talent across multiple sites, building a scalable organization for future growth.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and readiness for internal and external audits.
- Drive innovation in quality processes, leveraging digital tools and analytics for predictive quality management.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in quality leadership within manufacturing, preferably HVAC, refrigeration, or industrial equipment.
- Proven success in leading enterprise-wide quality initiatives and transforming quality organizations.
- Expertise in ISO 9001, ASHRAE standards, and global regulatory compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, and statistical quality tools.
- Strong background in manufacturing processes including welding, brazing, assembly, and testing.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders and collaborating across global teams.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and leadership skills.
Travel Expectations: 40% and up to 60% for short periods domestic and international travel
