Position Description
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Operations, Americas to lead our U.S. and Canadian operations. This role is critical to scaling our manufacturing capabilities and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products in a hyper-growth environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep operational expertise, a hands-on leadership style, and a proven track record of ramping up production facilities in fast-paced industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple manufacturing sites in the U.S. and Canada. Currently 4 sites with plans to grow to 7 in 2026.
- Drive operational excellence through lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and KPI-driven performance management.
- Lead plant ramp-up initiatives to meet aggressive growth targets and customer demand.
Strategic Execution
- Collaborate with the Group VP, Americas, to align operational strategies with business goals.
- Develop and implement scalable processes to support rapid expansion and increased production volumes.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards across all facilities.
Team Management
- Lead and develop high-performing operations and tactical procurement teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor plant managers and procurement leads to build leadership depth and operational resilience.
Safety
- Develop leadership and process to ensure safe operations across all site: our people are our most important responsibility
Quality
- Protect our customers and brand by delivering products that meet or exceed Modine and our customers standards
Material, Planning, and Logistics
- Delight our customer by delivering to our promises
Procurement & Supply Chain
- Oversee tactical procurement activities to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials.
- Partner with supply chain and engineering teams to optimize inventory, lead times, and supplier performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, sales, and product management to ensure operational readiness for new product introductions.
- Serve as a key liaison between corporate leadership and plant-level teams.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, preferably high to medium volume manufacturing for engineered products. i.e., including industrial equipment, or related sector. Data Center experience preferred.
- Proven experience in scaling up production facilities and leading operations in high-growth environments.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects under tight timelines.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time, depending on business needs.
