Position Description

This role leads plant‑level financial planning, costing, and reporting while partnering with operations to drive informed decision‑making, operational efficiency, cost control, and continuous improvement through financial analysis, performance insights, and strategic support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the plant’s monthly forecasting and annual planning functions, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
  • Analyze plant financial results against prior forecasts and plans, providing clear, actionable insights to leadership
  • Oversee the compilation and timely submission of standardized financial and KPI reports, including the Monthly Business Review (MBR) package, monthly flash results, variance analysis, and daily dashboards
  • Communicate actual and forecasted financial results in clear business terms to various levels of management
  • Apply manufacturing finance principles, including cost accounting, routing and BOM analysis, labor efficiency tracking, and purchase price variance analysis to ensure accurate product costing, production variance analysis, and margin reporting.
  • Support annual cost roll processes, including labor and overhead standard rate setting, material pricing updates, and supplier cost changes.
  • Support inventory accounting activities, including the annual physical inventory and routine cycle counts, while monitoring E&O and production scrap; partner with accounting to ensure inventory valuation aligns with GAAP.
  • Lead initiatives to improve cash flow and working capital by collaborating with procurement and sales teams to optimize days payable outstanding (DPO) and days sales outstanding (DSO).
  • Serve as a key financial advisor and business partner to the Plant Manager and operational leadership team.
  • Drive business results by supporting and applying 80/20 principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Support the Group Finance Director with financial analysis and justification for significant investments, including large capital expenditures, utilizing ROI and payback analyses.

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Financial. Master’s Degree and/or CPA desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 year’s experience in accounting, Manufacturing, corporate administration or equivalent, including cost accounting and cost estimating
  • Demonstrated skill in managing financial reporting and variance analysis, including cost accounting skills, while supporting the accounting close process.
  • General understanding of US GAAP and SOX.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, in both verbal and written form, with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work activities
  • An exceptional standard of quality: this involves attention to detail, organization, thoughtful analysis and problem-solving, and accountability for excellent results
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft office products and PC is required- heavy Excel experience required
  • Experience with SAP is preferred
