Position Description
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the automotive manufacturing plant. This role ensures that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely, meeting the company's quality standards and production goals. The Plant Manager will lead a team of supervisors and production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence and effectively meeting customer requirements.
- To provide a safe working environment for all employees. Minimizing the environmental impact of operations and complying with all external and internal environmental requirements
- Responsibility for the financial performance of the facility and the functional tasks of each employee/head of department
- Developing short- and long-term operational and business plans that are consistent with and contribute to the goals and objectives of the region and the company. Accurate planning, forecasting, analysis of deviations and implementation of corrective actions to achieve the intended results
- Mentoring plant staff consisting of direct staff in the use of the Modine production system and behaviors, and ensuring the use and continuous improvement throughout the organization and facility.
- To develop and expand a culture of continuous improvement in order to achieve the improvement of targeted results.
- Manage the quality performance of manufacturing and business processes with the ability to achieve goals or modify activity and behavior if it deviates from the goal.
- Establish and manage standardized work across the entire paid and hourly organization to reduce variability and improve efficiency across all areas of the business
- Active participation in all aspects of employee relations, including managing the local employment contract in union facilities or non-union facilities, managing the employee handbook, establishing skill requirements throughout the organization, developing employee skills, evaluating performance and behavior through the regular application of the performance management process, and as necessary to achieve performance goals Managing changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management:
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Monitor operation expenses to reduce costs while maintaining product quality and trigger corrective actions
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, coach, and develop plant staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure the plant operates in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive initiatives to reduce costs and improve productivity.
- Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the plant’s budget.
- Responsible for achieving/exceeding Gross Margin and EBITDA
Required Education & Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Cross-cultural experience
- Experience in the automotive industry is highly preferred.

- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization both in Hungarian and English.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control.
- Safety and Compliance: Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in the manufacturing industry.
