Position Description
The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician (Machinist‑Focused) is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving production machinery, tooling, and facility systems, with a strong emphasis on machining, precision fitting, and mechanical fabrication. This role will support manufacturing at two locations in Rhode Island through hands‑on machinist skills, repairing production equipment, troubleshooting during emergencies, and supporting outside contractors. Additional duties include welding, carpentry, maintaining company vehicles, and performing safety inspections. The technician must conduct routine inspections, diagnose and repair mechanical issues, implement preventive maintenance plans, and document all work performed. Collaboration with production and engineering teams, managing spare parts inventory, and training new technicians are also key responsibilities. The position requires proficiency in using Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track maintenance tasks and ensure timely completion, as well as daily reporting to management on maintenance activities and equipment status. Responsibilities also include maintaining the exterior of the building, cleaning the maintenance yard, and performing snow removal for walkways and entrances. A high school diploma/GED or vocational/technical degree, 3+ years of maintenance experience, proficiency with mechanical and electrical systems, and strong problem-solving and communication skills are required. Adaptability to new technologies and a commitment to safety are essential.

Required Education & Qualifications
- Ability to maintain quality standards in line with Modine Manufacturing's protocols.
- HS Diploma/GED, preferable vocation /technical degree.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or machining within a manufacturing environment
- Welding skills (MIG, TIG, or stick) preferred but not required
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office Suite
- Extensive knowledge of tools acquired through on-the-job experience, with tasks that may involve some complexity.
- Requires individual resourcefulness, initiative, and ingenuity, capable of working independently without direct instruction.
- Frequently handles up to 50 lbs. while standing.
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work from diagrams and prints.
- Ability to follow instructions, and to instruct other employees in machine operations.
- Ability to work overtime when it is deemed necessary.
- Dedicated to adhering to the company's safety programs and protocols. Maintain continuous mental and visual focus to ensure safety and prevent injuries.
