Position:  Forklift Operator

Department/Sector: Production- Electrofin E-Coat

Reports To: Production Shift Supervisor

 

Position Purpose

The Forklift Operator is responsible moving crate/coils in and out of the building and transfer to and from Tabler as necessary.

 

Scope: 

The Forklift Operator/Material Handler reports directly to the Lead Person and is responsible for the following activities:

 

  • Follow published work instructions, quality procedures, and safety protocols
  • Use pick list to ensure the next five plans have been brought from Tabler and stored on the hill
  • Remove empty crates from Hanging and Coil Prep area and restage with full crates as needed
  • Bring carts to Hanging and Coil Prep as needed
  • Bring empty crates to Crating area and remove once completed
  • Remove empty carts from Crating as needed.
  • Empty all plant trash cans daily
  • Follow pick list as per schedule unless directed otherwise by supervisor.
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

Qualifications/Education/Experience:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  High School diploma or general education degree (GED); entry level, prefer three to nine months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The individual must have the ability to read and understand safety instructions, work instructions, and company policies and procedures; to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions; and to add, subtract, multiply and divide. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  1. Meet, preferably exceed, work objectives provided by Production Supervisor.  
  2. Meet assigned production schedules to assure that products are shipped on time with due consideration for cost effectiveness and quality adherence.
  3. Promote safety and safety accomplishments
  4. Ability to work any shift schedule
