Position Description

• Operate the Amada laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the sheet metal department or assist other machine operators.
• Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
• Knowledge about nozzles used during laser cutting operation.
• Knowledge nesting software and maximizing sheet utilization (Radan Software experience preferred)
• Lift raw materials, final products, and items prepped for shipment, manually, or using overhead crane and forklift.
• Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.
• Experience cycle counting sheet metal
• Maintain a strict preventive maintenance program

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor fill level of bulk tank system and report reordering levels to the supervisor.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
• Follow all company rules and policies.
• Follow all safety rules and quality standards.
• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Assemble items as instructed by shift leader or floor supervisor.
• Prepare sheet metal for delivery to brake press operators

Required Education & Qualifications

Production experience in a make-to-order assembly role is preferred. This includes the ability to read and interpret prints, wiring diagrams, assembly checks and CAD models in order to meet production specifications.
