Position Description
This technician roll will support the Rockbridge Factory Acceptance Test Lab with test setups, data collection, data processing, report generation, and technical support. The position will report to the Lab Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Lab preparation for chiller testing. (Including light fabrication, pipe work, etc)
- Lab maintenance and upgrades, such as sensor calibrations and new equipment installation.
- Builds custom fabricated test setups, involving mechanical, electrical, controls, etc.
- Data collection using dedicated data acquisition hardware and LabVIEW.
- Operates lab equipment, including chillers, boilers, fan walls, control valves, etc.
- Installs sensors to measure temperature, pressure, flow, electrical power, etc.
- Supports factory witness testing.
- Communicates effectively with product/application engineers and production staff.
Required Education & Qualifications
- 2+ years relevant lab or test experience or Associates Degree in technical field and 1+ years of relevant lab experience
- Exposure to LabVIEW and/or other DAQ systems.
- Ability to be OSHA 10 or 30 safety certified
- Ability to be ArcFlash trained / certified
- Exposure to chiller controls (Carel/Siemens/Automation Direct/RS Logic/others)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with LabVIEW and/or other DAQ systems.
- OSHA 10 or 30 safety certified
- ArcFlash trained/certified
- Controls knowledge (Carel/Siemens/Automation Direct/RS Logic/others)
Education Requirements:
- Associates Degree in Technical Field plus experience, or equivalent experience
Travel:
- Up to 10% to customer sites, other manufacturing locations, suppliers, etc.
