Position Description

This job requires a highly self-sufficient and independent person. You will manage fast paced key customer programs. You are responsible supporting Modine’s application engineering teams. You will manage product launch timelines and direct and manage issues impacting program timing, cost and quality with customer programs and new product launches.  You must be technically orientated and able to manage large scale multi facet accounts.  You must be outgoing and willing to travel to Modine’s key manufacturing locations launching their programs. You will run open issues meetings with a technical cross functional commercial, engineering, procurement, quality and costing team.  You will maintain program open issue lists and prioritize and assign responsibilities for each major issue while insuring on time closure and a program that maintains previously approved financial metrics.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for managing and planning programs with key customers for our data center markets. This will include managing program launches for customer awarded business, management of program financials, support key launch team members at our manufacturing locations and maintenance of on-going programs. The position will be responsible for maintaining original approved financial metrics.
  • Assignments will include programs with a high level of risk and a high degree of complexity.
  • Manage programs by leading cross functional teams. The incumbent must direct the activities of others, both internal and external to the company, to support programs without reporting authority.
  • Interact with the various customer functions, including purchasing, engineering, and quality.
  • Facilitates the APQP process by following Modine’s APQP practices. Candidate will have input on process improvements to the program management standard practice.
  • Develop a timing plans. The plans will be communicated both internally and externally on a regular basis including working with engineering on prototype timing and with sales to include timing in quotes.
  • Monitor progress against the plan and the original business case and take actions as necessary to assure a successful program launch.
  • This position is also concerned with customer satisfaction and the profitability of the program.
  • Monitor delivery, quality, design changes, supplier changes, pricing adjustments, continuous improvement and ensures corrective actions are implemented to address open issues as necessary.

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Minimum of an undergraduate college degree, Bachelor of Science Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience interfacing with major customers, with at least 2 years supervisor/management experience.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems (QS-9000, VDA, or TS 16949 standards) and program launch disciplines required.
  • Requires good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as abilities in team leadership, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution, and quality planning.
  • Must be skilled in the use of program management software, such as Microsoft Project or similar and Excel.
