Position Description
The Electrical Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager for the Data Center colocation sub-vertical As an Electrical Engineer I, you will design, develop, and document Chiller electrical designs within the scope of products manufactured by the Data Center team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain proprietary electrical design systems for Chiller data center cooling products. Creation of electrical wiring schematics, panel/terminal layout drawings and wire loom documentation.
- Coordinate panel build and wiring activities for both protype and production units.
- Interface cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive design feasibility and efficiency.
- Create and maintain structured configurable Super BOMs to ensure accurate part selection and system configuration.
- Support controls and electrical troubleshooting during prototyping and testing.
- Apply working knowledge of AC drives, power distribution, switchgear, sensors, and transducers to design activities.
- Stay abreast of new developments in electrical design and apply that knowledge towards the technical enhancement of Modine machinery and processes.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- College graduate in electrical engineering or related technical discipline with 1 – 3 years engineering experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent.
- UL508A Panel Build experience preferred.
- Knowledge and application of applicable electrical codes; NEC, UL (UL1995, UL60335, UL508A), IEC and CE.
- Well versed in MS Office Excel, Word, Power-Point, etc.
