Position Description

The Controls Project Engineer role is a direct report to the Controls Operations Manager. The role is critical to the delivery, profitability and improvement of the controls department to achieve the set goals. The Controls project team is a core function within the department, which is responsible for delivery of all active projects. The projects team looks at improving the efficiency of delivery and aim to increase project profitability. The Project Engineer role is key to ensuring all elements are delivered within budget and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Sales with pre-sales activities; tender reviews, quote generation, relationship building
  • Complete site surveys and project feasibility studies
  • Approve and review project purchase orders 
  • Run Hand Over Meetings effectively communicate targets to all levels of the team
  • Programming of Works 
  • Work with Engineering Teams to assign tasks and completion deadlines
  • Liaise with other teams within Airedale effectively to successfully deliver projects
  • Customer Connection to update of progress and deliverables 
  • Deliver project related documentation; RFI’s, Tech Subs, Des Ops, Points Lists, O&M’s, etc
  • Sign off and approve Engineering teams work prior to site deployment 
  • Manage sub-contractors at all levels
  • Management of material procurement in time for site activities to commence
  • Guide and Lead onsite personal 
  • Manage Project finances
  • Profit & Loss per Project 
  • Cost site Variations 
  • Responsibility for delivering assigned projects on time and within budget 
  • Uphold project quality 
  • Building customer relationships 
  • Drive innovation and best practices throughout the department 
  • Maintain repeat business and seek new opportunities

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Proven understanding of cooling systems
  • Strong interpersonal / organizational skills
  • Strong communication and IT fluency
  • Creative talents and the ability to solve tough problems
  • In-depth knowledge of the industry and its technology
  • The ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
  • Skill in prioritizing and triaging obligations
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organization
  • Can do attitude
