Position Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Controls Apprentice Software Engineer to work as part of the Controls Department based in Leeds.
Key Responsibilities
Key accountabilities for this role include:
• Learn and develop control software development skills, whilst supporting the special strategy workload within the Controls team
• Assist in the programming of Spare Controllers supporting Airedale’s Spare Parts business, whilst developing an understanding of our software and its operation
• Assist in the programming and support of interface cards for both Controls work and external customers.
• Assist in the testing process of software using functional test simulators to ensure correct operation.
• Assist with the production of documentation including control philosophies, O&M manuals, functional test scripts, FMEA reports and BMS points lists.
• Provide technical support for the controls department, supporting internal and external teams with queries and providing support.
• Be a focal point for contract customers, helping to resolve any issues and develop our commitment to them.
• Some site work may occasionally be required.

The successful candidate should have the following skills:
• Have an interest in the field of controls / BMS
Have basic knowledge of IT systems and communication networks
• Logical and methodical approach to problem solving using own initiative is a must
