Position Description
The Shipping and Receiving Warehouse Supervisor – 2nd Shift is responsible for coordinating the receiving of components and vendor items, and the shipment of products to our customers at the time required. The Shipping and Receiving Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation of the shipping and receiving department and works closely with production to assure deliveries are received and shipped per the requirements of the customer. Position is responsible for the management of all warehouse activities as well.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages all warehousing activities
- Coordinate the receiving process and check in of all incoming material, including checking of shortages and visible damage to freight
- Ensure on-time receipt into ERP system of incoming material. Oversee maintaining of receiving error log and aid in resolution when necessary
- Manage shipping accurate, properly packed/loaded, and on time shipments to all customers
- Drive inventory accuracy
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain 5S of the docks and other storage areas to ensure all parts are stored safely and orderly
- Ensure proper labeling of material, racking, containers, and storage locations as required
- Supervise approx. 10-15 hourly and salary personnel
- Maintain Kronos timekeeping, scheduling and attendance for all direct reports
- Able to develop and administer schedules and establish performance requirements
- Work with plant and warehouse personnel to facilitate effective and safe material flow
- Establish and review regularly a standard work for all direct reports
Required Education & Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience in warehousing or manufacturing environment
- SAP or other ERP System experience
- Familiarity with commercial software (UPS, Fed Ex, and EDI)
- Must be comfortable with various computer software/applications (Microsoft Office, QAD, SAP)
- Strong communication skills, analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to participate in or
- able to lead a cross functional team
- Results oriented and organized with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines
- The ability to manage multiple projects with the flexibility to respond to a dynamic environment
