Position Description

The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for supervising and guiding a team of maintenance technicians to ensure production equipment and facility systems operate reliably and efficiently. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, including task delegation, coaching, and performance monitoring. The Maintenance Team Leader acts as the primary point of contact between the maintenance team and supervisors or management, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and in alignment with operational goals.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion.
- Provide hands-on technical support for troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Mentor and train team members to develop technical skills and ensure safe work practices.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work logs, and documentation in the CMMS.
- Identify areas for process improvement, efficiency gains, and reliability initiatives within the maintenance team.
- Support planning and scheduling of maintenance activities in collaboration with supervisors and planners.
Required Education & Qualifications

- 5+ years of Experience in industrial maintenance, including electrical and mechanical systems.
- Proven leadership or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across mechanical, electrical, and automated systems.
- Ability to train, coach, and mentor maintenance technicians effectively.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple maintenance activities under time constraints.
- Proficiency with CMMS software and basic maintenance reporting.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical/electrical technology, or related field preferred.
