Check Out Our Products: www.modineEV.com You will have a critical role in our Advanced Thermal Systems team, as we work closely with our customers to define the future of commercial electric vehicles. The Focus Factory Manager – ATS is based out of our Lawrenceburg, TN manufacturing plant supporting our ATS business serving Bus, Truck and Specialty Vehicle customers. This position is responsible for providing a safe work environment, meeting customer requirements, managing production, quality, manufacturing engineering, and production/material control. Additional responsibilities include creation and delivery of capacity, capital, and financial plans, creating an environment of continuous improvement through lean principles, development of employee skills, succession planning, and communication of organization direction and alignment of the workforce to goals of the ATS vertical. The successful candidate will report to the Operations Director – Advance Thermal Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Unit safety leadership and culture development
  • Application of 80-20 principles to simplify, focus, and improve the business
  • Drive a culture of improvement using CI/Lean leadership principles. Application of various lean tools including Kaizen, 5S, TPM, Kata, and others as appropriate.
  • Ownership of SQDIP KPIs for value streams.
  • Adherence to labor strategy; union avoidance; use of temporaries etc.
  • Manpower planning; efficiency control; standard hour reductions; overtime control.
  • Oversight of standard training processes and standard work.
  • Material planning and control for Business Unit. Production planning – level loading for Business Unit.
  • Customer satisfaction management
  • Quality oversight for the Business Unit, including IATF 16949 compliance.
  • Capacity and resource planning
  • Forecasting (current year) and business planning (5 year)
  • Development of key personnel

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Engineering
  • MBA preferred
  • 7-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing management environment.
  • 5 years in a direct management position with multiple direct reports
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of financial management.
  • History of Lean & continuous improvement responsibility with measurable results.
  • Desire and ability to be a self-directed manager working within the corporate reporting and organizational structure
