Position Description
Responsible for setting up and operating AMADA FO fiber laser cutting equipment to produce precision sheet‑metal parts safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs all set up and operation of equipment in the laser cell.
- Set up to include, but not limited to: ensuring the proper settings for the laser machine, proper placement of raw material into the tower system and removal and segregation of finished parts from the tower system.
- Must evaluate laser cut edge of part and make decisions concerning various machine adjustments to assure the optimum edge quality.
- Responsible for safe operation of equipment using all related safety devices.
- Works from verbal and/or written instructions from supervisors.
- May perform experimental and developmental work as required.
- Will work closely with engineering to correct program and machine issues.
- May need to make minor program modifications via CNC machine control.
- Will perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as required. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in manufacturing environment. Preferably experience in operating laser cutting machines.
- Must be able to read blueprints and use a variety of measuring instruments to determine the accuracy of setup.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
