Position Description
We are seeking a driven Sales Manager to lead and grow our representative sales network across the United States and Canada. This role is focused on promoting our commercial and industrial make-up air equipment through our representative network. This is position is the primary commercial interface, ensuring alignment with customer needs while leading internal coordination to deliver effective solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC sales and experience managing an independent representative network, with proven success in managing relationships, driving revenue growth, and developing strategic sales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Own and execute sales strategy to achieve top-line revenue growth and profitability targets.
- Establish sales territories, quotas, and goals for the rep network.
- Recruit, onboard, and coach independent sales representatives.
- Develop and implement sales processes and reporting for forecasting and pipeline management.
Market Development
- Expand market share by building relationships with reps, specifying engineers, architects, mechanical contractors, and end users.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic accounts.
- Represent Modine at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.
Technical Sales & Support
- Prepare technical proposals and quotes in collaboration with local reps.
- Match customer requirements to product solutions.
- Customer follow up on open quotations.
- Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal engineering/product teams.
- Provide input to product development based on market feedback and competitive intelligence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and finance to ensure customer satisfaction and delivery alignment.
- Champion product improvements and communicate customer needs to internal teams.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of HVAC sales experience, specifically within a representative network sales channel.
- Proven success in selling commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate HVAC system design and specifications.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM platforms.
- Ability to travel extensively (70–80%) across the U.S. and Canada.
