Position Description

The position is directly responsible for the Receipt and Shipping of products for the Manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform primary functions using SAP system for Shipping, Receiving, Material transfer, and other transactions as required.
  • Responsible for a variety of activities relating to receiving, storage, and shipping of various items.  Handles and records items received from vendors or other suppliers, maintains stockroom operation for supplying materials to various functions in the plant, and prepares for shipping those items produced in-plant.
  • Performs shipping function in accordance to established procedures and SOX narratives.   Completes daily through use of SAP system, referring to customer guidelines for shipping preparation, and verifying skid counts to BOL created prior to shipment loading.
  • Completes BOL for all shipments from plant, including manual BOL process for non-productive items
  • Responsible for proper packaging / marking of containers prior to shipment per established procedures.  This could include banding and stretchwrap activities as well as printing necessary labels.
  • Perform UPS Worldship labeling requirements
  • Performs receiving function in accordance to established procedures and SOX narratives.  Receives goods from vendors, verifies part / skid counts, and stores items in specified locations.   Completes receiving in SAP on daily basis as product arrives. 
  • Distributes packing lists to office personnel relating to Pcard / DSSI receipts.
  • Perform receipts of Customer Returns per established procedures and notify Quality of completion.
  • Support Quality Module receipt inspection process
  • Move materials to in-plant locations as needed (forklift), and is responsible for accurate records involving all materials movement activity.
  • Performs all material handling tasks and other duties as assigned, including activities related to transfers between Plant1 and Plant2.
  • Perform tasks per plant Standard Indirect Trucker work matrix
  • Perform backup activities as required for Plant1 or Plant2 due to vacation
  • May use handcarts and associated equipment to move and store parts
  • Contribute to our Continuous Improvement efforts, Kaizen, MPS, etc.
  • Must work well with multiple departments/people and have the ability to multi-task different projects.
  • Employee must be able to perform primary activities of Shipping and Receiving and may be required to perform those duties temporarily on another shift or plant in a backup capacity.
  • Complies with Business Conduct Code and established Safety rules
  • Reports inferior workmanship and material to Supervisor.  Keep your work area neat, clean and safe. 

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Requires good communication skills, attention to detail, basic computer skills (ex. Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • Must have familiarity with powered material handling equipment (PMHE), such as forklift or motorized pallet jack. 
  • Previous experience with SAP or other ERP system preferred
  • 6+ months direct forklift experience preferred
