Position Description

 

As the Human Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our manufacturing plant in Jefferson City, MO. As one of the plants in our growth business unit, this location is key to our strategy and we need a strong HR Manager to help us with the transformation plan. You will be responsible for strategically managing all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, performance management, compliance, and strategic planning. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a positive work culture, supporting organizational change, and aligning HR initiatives with the plant's goals to ensure operational excellence and sustainable growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Talent Acquisition and Management: 

 

  • Implementing strategies to attract and retain skilled employees, especially during the turnaround phase where recruitment might be crucial to fill skill gaps 

 

Employee Relations:

 

  • Managing employee questions
  • Ensuring a positive work environment
  • Fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration

 

Training and Development: 

 

  • Partnering with our Learning & Development team to design programs to upskill existing employees and align their competencies with the evolving needs of the plant.

 

Change Management: 

 

  • Supporting employees through transitions and changes within the plant.

 

Compliance and Legal: 

 

  • Ensuring the plant adheres to labor laws and regulations, managing legal compliance, and minimizing risks associated with workforce management.

 

Strategic Planning: 

 

  • Collaborating with plant management to align HR initiatives with overall business objectives and contribute to the plant's success in both growth and turnaround phases. 
     

Required Education & Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree and HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred
  • Proven track record as an HR Manager, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with experience in both growth and turnaround phases 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams through change and challenging environments
  • Ability to develop and execute HR strategies that align with overall business objectives and drive plant performance 
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with employees, management, and external stakeholders 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex HR issues and contribute to organizational success
