Position Description

The EHS Specialist is responsible for supporting and administering workplace Environmental Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role focuses on hazard identification, incident prevention, employee training, and continuous improvement of safety performance across operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of company safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses (JHAs)
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors; recommend and track corrective actions
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and injuries; assist with root cause analysis
  • Maintain OSHA compliance (recordkeeping, logs, reports, postings)
  • Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to employees and contractors
  • Assist with regulatory inspections and agency interactions (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Track and analyze safety metrics, trends, and leading indicators
  • Lead safety committee(s) and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Promote a strong safety culture by engaging employees at all levels

Required Education & Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a safety and/or environmental role, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, or construction environments or a 4 year degree in safety, environmental or related field
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Strong observational and analytical skills to identify hazards and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
