Position Description
We’re seeking an Industrial Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to optimize manufacturing and warehouse operations. This role combines core IE methods (time studies, line balancing, layout design, ergonomics) with Lean/CI tools and warehouse engineering standards to improve flow, safety, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop engineered labor standards (e.g., stopwatch studies, MOST, MTM), line balancing, and capacity analysis to improve throughput and reduce waste.
· Design optimized layouts for production cells, material handling, and warehouse using AutoCAD.
· Apply facility planning principles for space utilization and flow efficiency.
· Design and establish aisle space standards based on equipment type (forklifts, pallet jacks, tuggers), load type, and ensure compliance with OSHA and ANSI regulations.
· Analyze and improve warehouse processes: receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
· Implement slotting optimization for high-frequency items to improve picking efficiency and reduce travel time.
· Design efficient storage systems and material flow paths to minimize travel and handling.
· Develop and maintain standard work, SOPs, and visual controls.
· Lead and participate in group Kaizen events (5S, SMED, TPM, VSM) and sustain improvements.
· Monitor KPIs (OEE, lead time, changeover, inventory accuracy), production downtime (16 losses), and drive corrective actions.
· Maintain documentation for process flow diagrams, spaghetti charts, and plant/warehouse layout drawings.
· Apply ergonomic principles for manual handling zones and workstations.
Required Education & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
· 3–5 years in manufacturing and/or warehouse environments applying IE principles.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel/Minitab, ERP/WMS systems.
· Knowledge of Lean tools, warehouse slotting, and engineered standards.
Preferred
· Lean Six Sigma certification (GB/BB).
· Experience with low-volume/high-mix manufacturing and distribution center optimization.
