Position Description
We are seeking to hire an Indirect Tax Senior Analyst who will report to the Senior European Tax Manager. This role is primarily responsible for managing compliance of U.S. sales and use tax as well as U.S. personal property, real estate, and excise tax. This position will also be required to support the Senior European Tax Manager on global indirect tax projects as may be required, such as new jurisdiction registration and compliance – presenting a fantastic opportunity for further professional development.
Key Responsibilities
U.S. Sales and Use Tax
- Responsible for sales and use tax compliance and related matters including assisting in determining taxable vs. exempt transactions.
- Manage tax registrations (both domestic and foreign) for all U.S. legal entities, including review of compliance needs where potential nexus exists.
- Support senior tax team as required in sales and use tax audits.
- Coordination of domestic indirect tax account reconciliations, mainly sales and use.
- Perform sales and use tax research/analysis for major business changes/issues or special projects as they arise including reserve assessment if necessary.
- Research and communicate proposed and enacted changes in sales and use tax laws and direct any updates and/or tax system changes.
- Support tax team as required with special sales and use tax projects such as implementation of tax software, research/analysis for major business changes, resolution of issues/tax disputes.
Other Indirect Tax
- Responsible for U.S. personal property, real estate and excise tax compliance.
- Support senior tax team as required in U.S. personal property, real estate and excise tax audits.
- Support the Senior European Tax Manager as required on global indirect tax projects such as new jurisdiction activities, registrations and compliance, and issue resolutions.
Required Education & Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in Accounting or finance is required; CPA is preferred but not required.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience is required.
- Global VAT/GST/Indirect Tax experience is a plus but not required.
- Proficient tax and non-tax (e.g. MS Excel) software skills is required.
- Experience with Hyperion, Ryan sales and use tax softwares (PinPoint, FilePoint and ControlPoint) and SAP/HFM software skills are a plus.
