Position Description

The Chiller Pressure Tester is responsible for conducting pressure and leak tests on chiller units and related components to ensure products meet quality, safety, and performance standards. This role involves operating testing equipment, documenting results, identifying defects, and working closely with production and quality teams to ensure all chillers are properly tested before shipment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform pressure testing on chiller systems, coils, piping, and related components using approved testing procedures.Conduct leak detection inspections using appropriate tools and equipment.Verify that all units meet company quality standards and customer specifications.Read and interpret production work orders, blueprints, and testing requirements.Record and maintain accurate test data, inspection results, and production documentation.Identify defects, leaks, or nonconforming conditions and communicate findings to supervisors and quality personnel.Troubleshoot minor issues and assist with corrective actions as needed.Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements.Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S and lean manufacturing principles.Assist with additional production duties as assigned.

Required Education & Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, testing, or HVAC experience preferred.
  • Ability to read measuring devices, gauges, and pressure testing equipment.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of pressure testing and leak detection methods.
  • Ability to identify quality issues and communicate effectively.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling tools, parts, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing and production environment.
  • Exposure to machinery, testing equipment, and industrial tools.
  • Overtime and flexible scheduling may be required based on production demands.
