Position Description
Layout, instruct, and direct the work of load out people. Prepares bill of lading by use of personal computer and printer. Coordinate and consolidate freight movements to satisfy customer requirements and affect freight savings. Process and maintain shipping records and shipping files. Some overtime required.
Key Responsibilities
- Route freight, prepares Bill of Lading, shipping orders, etc. using
- Personal Computer and printer.
- Type export papers.
- Stencil packages.
- Maintain shipping records and shipping files.
- Prepare UPS shipments.
- Expedite production on hot coils.
- Break down shipping documents.
- Communicate with carriers regarding loads and delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with load out people.
- Determine freight charges on all prepaid and add shipments.
Operates forklift
Required Education & Qualifications
As a key job in a work group of 2 or more people, this job exercises leadership, coordination and planning for others. Requires above average communication skills in communicating with various departments throughout the plant as well as outside trucking and airline companies.
