Position Description
This is an entry-level to mid-level accounting position that will help provide accounting support for the Grenada, MS and the U.S. Coatings facilities. The analyst will process journal entries, help in month-end closing, and perform other duties necessary to ensure timely completion of the month-end close processes. This individual will also perform account reconciliations. The position will help the analyst develop a proficiency in a number of different accounting responsibilities and duties in a manufacturing environment during the first few years.
Key Responsibilities
- Record monthly journal entries to ensure they are accurately reflected in the income statement and balance sheet in a timely manner.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities and processes.
- Help provide internal and external audit support as required.
- Comply with relevant Financial Standard Practices (FSPs), policies and procedures.
- Support plant accounting activities as needed.
- Prepare balance sheet analyses and account reconciliations.
- Help with plant physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
- Become familiar with the 80/20 operating model.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 0-5 years of accounting or finance experience preferred.
- Basic Excel skills and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Previous use or knowledge of SAP, BlackLine, and/or Hyperion is a plus.
- Should be flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Possess strong organizational skills.
