Position Description
The Kitting Professional is responsible for accurately assembling, organizing, and delivering component kits that support the Chiller assembly line. This role ensures that all required materials are prepared in advance, labeled correctly, and packaged according to standardized work to maintain smooth production flow. The position is essential to eliminating shortages, reducing line-side inventory, and supporting a just‑in‑time material delivery environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build component kits for the Chiller product line based on bill of materials (BOM), work orders, or kitting lists.
- Verify accuracy of part numbers, quantities, lot codes, and revision levels.
- Package and label kits according to standardized methods, ensuring they are production-ready.
- Stage completed kits in designated warehouse or line-side locations for pickup/delivery.
- Perform quality checks to ensure no missing, damaged, or incorrect parts are included in kits.
- Maintain accuracy in kitting records and support real-time updates in ERP or scanning systems.
- Escalate discrepancies, part shortages, or quality issues immediately to leadership.
- Pull materials from correct rack locations following FIFO and inventory accuracy standards.
Required Education & Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- The ability to use a forklift, computer and scan gun
- Position may require staggered hours when required and any required overtime.
- Requires lifting and pushing up to 45 lbs.
