Position Description

This person is responsible for managing component, supplies to assure that daily production schedules are maintained. Person will use SAP and other resources to track requirements and work with the suppliers allowing on time delivery of components; Individual has the freedom to make decisions and job performance is critical to the day-to-day operation of the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain responsibility for monitoring/creating purchase requisitions and purchase orders, on a daily basis, for appropriate vendors through SAP system.
  • Ensure compliance with the companies Purchasing Policies and Procedures, Code of Ethics, Values.
  • Interface with production, sales, and suppliers in order to schedule purchase orders of raw material to meet production demand
  • Confirm supplier delivery dates for purchasing material and expedite orders when necessary.  Access and input revisions (e.g., quantity, ship date) in order to update MRP reports
  • Conduct inventory obsolescence reviews and develop strategies to minimize excess and obsolete stock.
  • Reconcile variances between purchase orders, invoices, material releases, shipments, and packing slips
  • Forecast analysis and planning of assigned commodities at the SKU level. Provide suppliers with forecast as required
  • Bring ideas to management and be able to implement necessary process improvements.
  • Monitor and report key performance metrics, including schedule compliance, on-time delivery, Purchase Price Variance, inventories, shortages, and supplier performance. Report key performance metrics for production functions and compliance metrics
  • Develop mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments, maximize synergy, and maintain a shared vision, strategy, and focus.
  • Participate in cross functional research and activities with various departments to identify and minimize cycle count variances for assigned commodities.
  • Attend regular meetings as scheduled with other departments to provide input as necessary from materials perspective. 
     

Required Education & Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement (MP&L)
  • Microsoft Office experience preferably in Materials Management, Business or Accounting.
  • Must have good computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft office, experience working with MRP
  • Experience with SAP is beneficial
