Position Description

The EHS Engineer designs, implements, and maintains engineering controls that ensure workplace safety and environmental compliance. The EHS Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify hazards, develop mitigation strategies, and optimize safety systems and processes in alignment with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and evaluate engineering controls and safety systems to mitigate occupational hazards and environmental impacts.
- Conduct risk assessments, process hazard analyses (PHA), and safety reviews for new and existing equipment and processes.
- Develop and implement procedures and policies that comply with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Lead or support incident investigations and root cause analyses, recommending engineering solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to integrate safety into design and operational practices.
- Manage environmental monitoring programs and ensure compliance with emissions, waste, and discharge permits.
- Provide technical guidance and training on engineering aspects of safety and environmental management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing risks, energy use, and environmental footprint.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field required.
- 3–7 years of experience in EHS engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of OSHA, EPA, and industry-specific EHS regulations and standards.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, hazard analyses, and implementing engineering controls.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, process simulation software, or other engineering tools is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and manage projects effectively.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Safety, or related field) required.

The salary range for this position is estimated in good faith to be $85k-$110k. The specific offer will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other job-related considerations but will be within the stated range.
