Position Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Panel Shop Lead Hand must be able to:
•    Supervise up to 30 team members.
•    Attend and participating in scheduled, weekly meetings.
•    Work alongside the Production Support and/or Engineering teams for the required technical support including but not limited to drawings and planning, etc.
•    Conduct periodic cycle counts. 
•    Coordinate material request with the Purchasing department to ensure materials are readily available.
•    Oversee the production inspection processes to ensure quality standards.
•    Partner with the Quality group to ensure quality standards are met, including raising non-compliance reports for defective/damaged parts.  Participating in rectifying snags and ensuring quality alerts have been communicated to other team members.
•    Enhance production efficiencies by streamlining processes and implementing best practices.
•    Plan and lead schedules based on the numbers of sub-assemblies required to produce.
•    Enhance and/or develop manufacturing and processing procedures or Standard Operating Procedures.
•    Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of panels and schematics.
•    Ensure safety procedures and policies are being followed, including conducting tool box meetings and raising concerns to the Safety group.
•    Adapt quickly to changing priorities, ensuring seamless transitions between tasks without compromising deadlines or quality standards. 
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful project completion; strengthening interdepartmental relationships.
•    Provide inputs to employee performance reviews
•    Maintain the 5S Method in the production floor.
•    Other duties as assigned by a member of management

Required Education & Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:  
Must be qualified to perform the duties of the occupation in accordance 
with quality and quantity standards and to perform the mental, 
and visual requirements of the job in a safe and efficient manner
Must have Modine issued forklift license
Physical requirements of the job are the ability to:
Lift 50 pounds without assistance
Stand for a minimum of 2-3 hours
Reaching over shoulders/head
Bending at waist/knees
Twisting at shoulders/waist
