Position Description

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager leads the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental programs that protect employees, ensure regulatory compliance, and minimize operational risk. The EHS Manager will oversee audits, training, incident response, and sustainability efforts, driving a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state/local regulations.
- Lead and manage safety inspections, environmental audits, and risk assessments across all departments and facilities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting and documentation.
- Design and deliver safety and environmental training programs for employees and management.
- Track key safety and environmental metrics (KPIs) and prepare regular reports for senior leadership.
- Oversee hazardous waste handling, chemical inventory, air/water/waste permitting, and sustainability initiatives.
- Lead emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills, evacuation protocols, and spill response.
Required Education & Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in EHS management in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or related environment.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and relevant industry standards.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing EHS programs and influencing organizational culture.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train, mentor, and engage staff at all levels.
- Experience with EHS management systems, incident tracking software, and reporting tools.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency or high-pressure situations. - Experience managing external audits, regulatory inspections, and internal compliance reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, OSHA 30/510) strongly preferred.
