Position Description
This position is responsible for managing suppliers directly for Modine under pre-defined commodities from a Global perspective. This position requires individual experienced with commodities like Castings(Gravity, Investment), Stampings and machined components, Heat exchangers.
Key Responsibilities
- Good market understanding of the supply base from global perspective.
- Work closely with related functions (including but not limited to Supplier Quality, Supplier Development and Engineering) on identifying and selecting qualified suppliers based on Modine standards, best in Quality, service and price
- Create & update global commodity Strategy in-line with Business needs
- Strong knowledge on product costing and proven negotiation skills
- Continually driving cost reduction and VAVE activities to optimize cost
- Establish and maintain high standards of relationships with suppliers to build a strong partnership
- Ensure the successful implementation of contracts with suppliers in line with Modine T&C
- On-time launch support through close supplier/internal co-ordination.
- Active participation in developing suppliers jointly with SQA.
- Fluent with SAP and data analysis
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor in Engineering or equivalent with minimum 12+ years working experience in purchasing field in the related industry.
- Working knowledge of Heat Exchanger preferred.
- High level of oral and written English communication skills, global supplier exposure, Strong inter-personal skills and team player
- Flexible work timing to accommodate working with suppliers across region.
