Position Description

Scott Springfield by Modine is tier-1 supplier that offers scalable air handling solutions for commercial and industrial customers across North America.  SSM’s leadership team have intentionally created a workplace culture that puts customers first, and values teamwork, innovation and accountability.  SSM has garnered a hard-earned reputation for customer service, quality and reliability. To support its growth and expansion, SSM is looking to add a Wrapper to the Production team.

This is an Afternoon Shift Position from 3:00pm-1:30am Monday-Thursday.

This role will be based at our 2234 Portland St SE location in Calgary Alberta.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and proficiently use various power tools such as a drill, impact gun, grinder, and rivet gun.
  • Accurately maintain inventories for all parts needed for the unit
  • Make the sub-assemblies required in a timely manner to allow for efficient installation in units
  • Assist in preparing units for shrink wrap including but not limited to installing bird screens, access panels, gates and cardboards, labels and ladders
  • Prepare shrink wrap and tape and maintain the inventory of each
  • Operate and monitor shrink wrap equipment to ensure units are wrapped securely
  • Prepare “Ship Loose box” and ensure it is placed in units
  • Perform quality checks, inspect before and after wrapping to ensure standards are met
  • Perform daily weekly and monthly safety inspections as required
  • Maintaining a clean and organized area, including proper disposal of waste
  • Employee is responsible to perform the above mentioned, and any other tasks assigned to them in a safe manner and in accordance with our Health & Safety Policies, JHA’s & SWP’s.
  • Employee is responsible to understand and follow all Company Policies and Rules.

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must demonstrate organizational skills and be able to work independently.
  • Must exhibit safe work practices.
  • Must be willing to work in other areas of our facility as required.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment an asset
  • Must be able work OT on weekdays and weekends when required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Co-Workers, Team Leads, Supervisors, Engineering, Quality and Health & Safety.
  • Comfortable working in loud environments (hearing protection required).
  • Steel toed boots (CSA Approved 6’ in height or greater) required.
  • Ability to use various hand & power tools (drills, grinders, chop saws, band saws, measuring tape, etc.).
  • Please note: Public transit is not available at the end of this shift.
