Position Description
The Senior Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer (Senior SQAE) is responsible for leading strategic supplier quality initiatives, driving supplier performance improvement, and ensuring that externally sourced materials, components, and services meet rigorous quality, reliability, and compliance requirements. This senior role provides technical leadership, develops quality strategies, and partners closely with suppliers and cross functional teams to support business growth, new product development, and long term supply chain resilience.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the technical authority for supplier quality management, developing strategies and standards across the supply base.
• Lead complex supplier audits—process audits, capability assessments, and compliance evaluations (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100).
• Develop long‑term supplier quality roadmaps and drive alignment with procurement, operations, and engineering. Be actively involved in quality planning (Control Plans, APQP, FMEA, PPAP, Gauging).
• Initiate and participate in 8D Problem solving meetings with suppliers or internal. Conducting root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Tracking quality-related metrics and communicating the results to all levels of the organization.
• Participating in the supplier audit program and leading the corrective actions.
• Analyzing non-conformances, and customer feedback to focus on reliability improvement in all required areas.
• Analyze vendor quality performance ang engage in various improvement and corrective actions. Setting up vendor audit schedules and performing vendor audits, as required.
• Implementing statistical analysis based on manufacturing tolerances to identify week points and non-conformances.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
Required Education & Qualifications
• Experience in high‑precision, regulated, or complex industries (aerospace, automotive, medical devices, electronics, oil & gas, energy).
• Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or Lead Auditor.
• Experience with regulatory or industry standards (AS9102, IATF 16949, RoHS, REACH, ISO 13485, etc.).
• Familiarity with supplier risk models, quality contracts, and long‑term strategic sourcing processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality control.
