Position Description
Afternoon Shift : 3:00PM-11:30PM - Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and adjust PRIMA CNC and sheet‑metal fabrication equipment, including shearing, notching, and bending machines
- Verify machine programs, tooling, and material specifications before production
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime
- Read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Ensure finished parts meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards
- Perform in‑process and final inspections using precision measuring tools
- Identify defects or non‑conforming parts and take corrective action
Leadhand Duties
- Provide guidance and technical support to machine operators on the shift
- Assist with work coordination, workflow efficiency, and meeting production targets
- Communicate priorities, issues, and updates to supervisors or managers
- Lead by example in safety, quality, and productivity expectations
Maintenance & Safety
- Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventive maintenance
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly
- Ensure strict adherence to all workplace safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace in accordance with 5S standards
Required Education & Qualifications
- Experience operating PRIMA or similar CNC sheet‑metal fabrication equipment
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and quality requirements
- Experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Prior leadhand or senior operator experience is an asset
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety practices in a manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and support team members
- Clear communication and leadership skills on the production floor
- Dependable, organized, and safety‑focused
